| Theodore P. Savas, the owner and president of Savas Publishing and Consulting Group, was born and raised in Northern Iowa and graduated from The University of Iowa College of Law in 1986 (With Distinction). He practiced law in Silicon Valley for twelve years, and co-founded Savas Woodbury Publishing in 1991. After a string of very successful titles, this company was sold in 2001 to a New York-based publishing house. Savas has taught legal, business, and history college classes since 1992, and continues to dabble in the law. He is the author or editor of a dozen books (published in five languages), including A Guide to the Battles of the American Revolution, with J. David Dameron (Spellmount, 2006), Hunt and Kill: U-505 and the U-boat War in the Atlantic (Spellmount, Savas Beatie, 2004), Silent Hunters: German U-boat Commanders of World War II (Campbell, 1997; Naval Institute Press, 2003), and Nazi Millionaires: The Allied Search for Hidden SS Gold (Casemate, 2002), a score of articles in a variety of journals and magazines, and a bi-weekly opinion-editorial column that appeared in a northern California newspaper.
Lee Merideth, who handles our indexing responsibilities, was awarded a Bachelor of Science for Graphic Communications (Printing Management) with a minor in History from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Lee served with the United States Army (armor) and spent 20 years in the reserves, retiring with the rank of Major. During his active service he was with 2nd Battalion 8th Cavalry and HHC, 1st Cavalry Division. He is also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College (C&GSC) and Army Logistics Education and Development Course (ALEDC). Lee is the author or editor of several books, including the best-seller 1912 Facts About Titanic, and Grey Ghost: The Story of the Aircraft Carrier Hornet. He has indexed more than 200 titles. James Zach, our graphic artist and layout / dust jacket specialist, is a graphics major from Iowa State University.
